It’s been a busy summer for GigTECH! We’ve attended many events and conferences, and we’ve taken advantage of the opportunity to expand our FHIR knowledge. The GigaTECH Research & Development (R&D) team was present at the HL7 FHIR DevDays in June and is now participating in the 2024 CMS HL7 FHIR Connectathon. This is an annual virtual event that provides updates to multiple ongoing projects within HL7 and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Software engineers Eric Kim and Katrina Aquino and business analyst Adam Keenan will represent our GigaTECH R&D team at the CMS Connectathon. Eric has recently been working on integrating proprietary data within a .NET environment into Cerner EHR. Katrina has recently been working with FHIRPath and Questionnaires within a SMART on FHIR application. Adam has recently been working on mapping proprietary data into appropriate FHIR resources. All three of these projects have included creating/updating Implementation Guides for the respective clients.
A few tracks we will be tuning into during this Connectathon relate to PACIO, Da Vinci Burden Reduction, Clinical Data Exchange, and Cost Transparency. These are topics we’ve been dealing with recently and look forward to learning more about their current state and what the future holds for them.
