Matt’s presentation focuses on Audit Events as they relate to topics such as CDS Hook calls, SMART on FHIR applications, and ways to visualize the returned information.

Matt will discuss how developers can apply the Audit Event resource to CDS Hook HTTP requests to obtain relevant business metric information. An example of this may be related to provider and/or patient info, organizational or source information, and various elective choices related to the CDS Hooks recommendations for that business requirement.
SMART on FHIR applications are able to be audited similarly to CDS Hook calls with the additional ability to gather specific choice information related to the application. All of these gathered resources have the ability to be visualized through different providers (i.e., Splunk, Elastic.co, etc.). These visualizations provide insight into the usage of a company’s software and allow the business to monitor and improve its workflows as needed.
